Meet Scott Clapham.
He’s the catering manager at the upscale Wagga RSL club, in charge of the venue’s kitchens and their onsite restaurant, Henry’s on Goonigul. He also organises buffet breakfasts and community function catering in the club.
The Wagga RSL club opened in 1947 to help out the servicemen in their community, and they still celebrate their rich history today. Every Anzac Day, the RSL club gets ‘packed out’, with a lot of their 30,000 members coming in for the great meals and atmosphere.
Scott’s proud that the club has recently taken the catering back over, after a hiatus of 15 years. He says, “That was essentially just to give our members the food offering, and do something that supports them. So when it comes to the catering, we’re not for profit. We’re just here to provide a service for our members.”
Scott’s been acquainted with Veridia since he first came to Wagga, over seven years ago. He says, “I’ve always had a really good relationship with [Veridia], when I saw their reps down the street and here, there and everywhere!”
So when Scott took over the catering at the Wagga RSL, he decided to work with Veridia for their coffee. He’s been especially pleased with their service –
“At the drop of a hat, they will be here. We had issues with our old coffee machine, where Veridia supplied us one. The rep wasn’t expecting us to do the volume that we do, and it just wasn’t cutting it. So within two weeks we had a new machine, which was a lot more expensive, but it’s working really well.”
